Finishing

Magazine Finishing

How you finish your magazine can add that extra bit of umph and impact. Influence Print can help bring your vision to life with several finishing options to create just the look you want. These could include:
  • Creasing
  • Die Cut
  • Embossed
  • Foil Stamped
  • Folded
  • UV Coating

Binding

Magazine Binding

Most magazines are bound using saddle stitching, which involves folding the magazine pages and stapling them together through the crease. Most magazines that you buy on a newsstand use this process as well because it helps create a secure bind, holding the pages in place as you turn them. Some other binding options include:
  • Saddle Stitched
  • Perfect Bound
  • Wiro Bound
  • Spiral Bound
  • UV Coated

Paper

Magazine Paper

While most magazines are printed on coated text weight stock we can print your magazine on dozens of papers and surfaces. It really depends on the look you are trying to achieve, the message you are trying to send and of course, your budget. Here are some examples of materials we have available:
  • Dull coated
  • Gloss coated
  • Pearlized
  • Uncoated
  • Vellum

Frequently Asked Questions

How many pages can my magazine have?

We can bind and print any magazine with any number of pages. Since most magazines are saddle-stitched in multiples of four pages, your magazine should have a page count in multiples of four or there will be blank pages included.

What does it mean to print a short-run of a magazine?

Short-run magazines are printed using a digital press which allows us to create a faster turnaround and since no plates need to be created, can print less pages and quantities with the same quality.

What’s the turnaround time once proofs are approved?

Most orders are printed within 7 working days (dependent on quantity). To ensure your sell sheet order gets out the door quickly (and into your customer’s hands), please ensure:

  • It’s the correct file size and format
  • Your photos and graphics are high-quality and high-resolution (not blurry or pixelated)
